FTC Guide: Correcting Credit Report Errors

If there are errors on your credit report after you’ve filed bankruptcy, or you won’t be filing bankruptcy and just want to make corrections to inaccurate information on your credit report, you’ll need to file a dispute with each credit reporting agency that has reported incorrect information.  The Federal Trade Commission has published a helpful guide for consumers to make corrections in their credit reports.

Wondering where to find an agency to complete your pre- or post-bankruptcy counseling requirement?  Here’s your answer!  This is the official Department of Justice site that lists every approved agency in Oregon.  Most agencies will fax and/or email a copy of your certificate to your attorney so that it can be filed in your case.
